Frequently Asked Questions

???? What is Pilates?

Pilates is a full-body training method that focuses on strengthening the core, improving posture, and enhancing flexibility through both mat-based and equipment-supported exercises. It activates the body’s center—your abs, back, and glutes—to promote balance, stability, and efficient movement. Whether you’re an athlete or new to exercise, Pilates can help improve coordination and build long, lean muscles—without the bulk.

???? What is GRIP ® Exercise?

GRIP ® is a unique movement system that combines elements of dance, yoga, swimming, and gymnastics. It emphasizes joint mobility and spinal movement while simultaneously strengthening the body. What makes it special is its flowing, circular motions that stretch and strengthen at the same time, helping improve flexibility, coordination, and range of motion.

???? How is Pilates Mat different from Yoga or GRIP?

While all three disciplines promote mind-body awareness and flexibility, they approach movement differently. Pilates Mat focuses heavily on core stability and precision, while yoga emphasizes breath work and stillness through poses. GRIP is more fluid, using specialized equipment to guide dynamic, circular movements. Each system has unique strengths—and often, the best results come from blending them!

???? Should I choose Yoga or Pilates?

Both systems offer incredible benefits. Yoga often emphasizes breath control and relaxation, while Pilates is rooted in core strength and body alignment—especially with the use of equipment. If you’re looking to tone muscles, enhance posture, or recover from injury, Pilates may be more targeted. If stress relief or flexibility is your goal, yoga may be ideal. You can always try both to find what resonates with you.

Payment, Booking & Admin

???? If I purchase a package, does that guarantee all my preferred time slots?

At GRIP, our group classes follow a fixed schedule and bookings depend on class availability. For private or semi-private sessions, timing depends on both our instructor availability and your preferred slot. We have a team of professionals available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, offering flexibility across the day.

To improve your chances of securing your ideal time:

  • Book your sessions well in advance.

  • Try working with more than one trainer.

  • Remember: sessions can be rescheduled or canceled with over 24 hours’ notice.

???? Can I use one package for different types of sessions?

Each package at GRIP is tied to a specific session type. That means mat classes, private sessions, semi-private training, and specialty programs all require separate packages. This ensures that each session type is delivered with the quality and focus it deserves.

???? Can I share my session package with my spouse or partner?

Packages are assigned to individual clients and cannot be shared. However, we offer Duet Sessions for couples who want to train together at great value. Prefer more flexibility? Try our Semi-Private Sessions, where we match you with a partner at your skill level—no coordination needed on your end!

???? Do GRIP packages have expiration dates?

Yes, each training package comes with a validity period. Once that time passes, any unused sessions will expire. Be sure to choose a package that matches your schedule so you can complete all sessions on time. For details on each package’s validity, check with our team.

???? Can I get insurance reimbursement for GRIP sessions?

Reimbursement depends on your insurance policy. If you’re joining our Rehab or Clinical Pilates programs led by licensed physiotherapists, you may be eligible. To file for insurance, you typically need:

  • A health insurance plan that covers physiotherapy

  • A doctor’s referral

  • Sessions completed with one of our certified clinical instructors
